The Chattahoochee Riverway BacteriALERT is a cooperative project between a number of Federal and State agencies and citizen groups:
Link to the National Park Service icon The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.

Public Law 95-344 (1978) creating the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, states, "The Congress finds the natural, scenic, recreational, historic, and other values of a forty-eight-mile segment of the Chattahoochee River and certain adjoining lands in the State of Georgia from Buford Dam downstream to Peachtree Creek are of special national significance, and that such values should be preserved and protected from developments and uses which would substantially impair or destroy them."For more information contact the Superintendent at (770) 399-8074.
